Description
When painting Endless Summer, I attempted to keep it simple. The blue sky, blue ocean with a calm sea and surf, were the basis for the idea. The red canoe and outrigger, the palm tree - are symbols of island life on Kauai or any where in Hawaii. The Hawaiian Islands symbols are familiar to all islands. Too, our iron rich soil colors many of our beaches a tan hue.
Besides of boats, the kite boarder and wind sailors, I didn't want anything more to clutter the composition. Keeping it simple is the symbology of a relaxing endless summer.
As a self-taught painter, I'm still learning where I might specialize, if I do at all.
The artist, Mary Deal, is also an award-winning author of mystery/thrillers, a short story collection and writers' reference books. Read about it here:

Aloha Mary, although I love the desert, this beautiful, relaxing painting makes me yearn for sand and surf. Love your composition, especially the dark blue horizon, that separates the sky and shallower waters.........................vf
