Description
The city of Sequim, Washington and the surrounding area are particularly known for the commercial cultivation of lavender, supported by the unique climate: it makes Sequim the Lavender Capital of North America, rivaled only in France.
Lavender has many uses, among them tea, healing balms, perfumes, sooth a sunburn, stress relief, essential oils, it is antiseptic for stings and even scrapes and cuts, sachets, hair rinse for dandruff, and can even be included in specialty foods.
Sequim is pronounced as one syllable, with the e elided: skwim.
