Description
This is a very large piece of clear jade ready for carving - about 18 inches across to top. The sculptor lives near my brother and has huge jade rocks laying all around his property. He showed me something interesting. Notice in the picture how the top of this jade rock shines and the bottom edges down front seem whitish? The sculptor spread water over the rock to make it clear. When he carves it, then smooths it, it still looks white until it's polished. I though that was interesting.
