Description
A high tide at Lumahai Beach on Kauai in Hawaii was being pushed ashore by an incoming storm. The aqua color of the waves was awesome, as were the winds and rain.
Lumahai Beach is famous for it's green sand. Olivine, a gemstone, created long ago by volcanic eruption, is washed down to the sea in rivers and stream. Pockets of this green sand deposit on the beach.
