Description
The Magnolia flower was named after the French botanist, Pierre Magnol. this particular flower carries the Latin name of. m. obovata. These flowers were around before bees and were pollinated by Beetles. Magnolias are very distantly related to the genus Lilium, or Lily. Fossilized specimens have dated back to 95 million years ago.
