The city of Honolulu, Hawaii with Diamond Head as seen through the trees from the top of Makiki Heights farther inland.
Honolulu began it's growth expansion during the 1960s, where not much was present. Even marshes could be found in Honolulu. By the time I made my first trip in 1972, Waikiki was built up and populated, with many older buildings still standing, or being torn down and hotels being built in their places.
Now the city is crowded. You have to travel far to higher ground to have a view like this. This view is from the Spaulding House in Makiki Heights. It's now an art museum but other people own homes up there with panoramic views.
