I was told these large birds were gray herons, but since I caught this heron showing its wingspan, I believe them to be blue herons. This beauty took off right in front of me at the edge of the lake and I just kept clicking. These are graceful birds in flight. Since I am learning how to photograph them, I hope to have a few variations of these large birds in flight. They are such graceful birds.
