Description
The USS Arizona Wall was erected to honor all those who gave their lives in the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Pearl Harbor lies on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Both the 1,177 Navy sailors and a group of Marines have their names included on the marble wall. Any surviving crew members of the USS Arizona can have their ashes interred in the wreck by U.S. Navy divers. Those who died aboard during the attack were left on board as their final resting place. The site is listed as a national memorial and millions of tourists visit Pearl Harbor annually.
Another ship, the USS Missouri, is docked down the bay a little way. It is the ship where the surrender was signed on board. In fact, many relics of this time period can be seen at Pearl Harbor.
