Description
A sunburned seed pod in the tropics. Am not sure what type of seedpod this was. It's actual shape would have been with the pod closed and larger at the top. When it opened, it formed this heart shape. I also have another image in this gallery showing the outer side of the pod.

Awesome heart capture! I have a new group called "Hidden Hearts" if you would like to add your photo! V/F

Yes, some pods can be quite large, somewhat heavy and have sharp edges!
Mary Deal replied:
I'd like to know what they are and where to find them. Would love to photograph them. The one in this image was about as big as your fist, but you are seeing both sides of the opened pod, so it is quite small.

Some tropical trees do have interesting seed pods, some even dangerous because of their size. Nice shot. v

Interesting. I love seeing things like this .v
Mary Deal replied:
Thank you, Jean. I believe I will put this image into my greeting card gallery, too, for a possible Valentine card.
