This red brick building was originally known as the Walnut Grove Grammar School when I attended way back... well, I won't say when. Kindergarten and 1st Grades were held there. Upper classes took place at the Walnut Grove Elementary School closer to the center of town.
Inside the larger part of the building toward the front in this image was an auditorium to seat about 200 people. The auditorium had a full grand stage, back stage, and costume/dressing rooms. There were large restrooms, a lunch room and a teachers room.
Architecturally speaking, this was quite a building especially when you knew what was inside. In more recent times, all classes were move to the other school and this facility was refurbished and named after the renown school principal as the Jean Harvie Community Center.
